Sunglasses come in a variety of shapes and styles and so do faces. We unconsciously make decisions to match the right style of sunglass to the shape of our face. Have you ever said that this pair of sunglasses is too big for my face or the shape is not my taste of style? Have you ever thought why don’t we all wear same sunglasses on all faces? Why do we have kid sunglasses smaller than adult sunglasses? The answer is simple that it would not look good on face. Why to settle with same style and shape of sunglasses when we have different faces and designers have designed sunglasses virtually for every face. No matter if your face is square or if you have an oval face, or oblong face or round face or even a diamond shaped or heart shaped face, today there are sunglasses style that are designed keeping the shape of all the different faces in mind. We will help you choose the shape and style of sunglass that will best match your face and would enhance the features of your face. In fact you can use this guide to not only properly select the best sunglasses for your face but also select the sunglasses that would compensate for any of your facial features that makes you insecure. Sunglasses are used to protect the eyes from harmful UV rays and also to hide or enhance features of face. Below are our recommendations for choosing right sunglasses for different faces.

Heart Face
Heart shape face looks exactly same as the name suggest. They are broad at the forehead and gets narrower as you go down the face with sharp cheekbones and tapered chin. The shape of such faces resembles heart shape. While selecting sunglasses for heart shape faces, the focus should be to give the top of face a narrower look (or the bottom a wider look) and bring the upper portion of face in symmetry with the bottom of face. Hence sunglasses that have wider bottom and slim frames are best suited for heart shape faces.

Square Face
Faces that have the width and length same and sharp jaw line are square face. If you have a wide forehead and the width of face at jaw is same as the forehead width then you fall in square face category. The square face people have pointed jawline and you should choose your sunglasses to soften this angularity and give your face a narrower look. Choose sunglasses that are wider but with less depth such as oval shape sunglasses. This will give your face a round look and enhance the features of your face.

Round Face
You have round face if your face is circular shape with curvilinear lines and no angularity. The dimensions of round faces are symmetrical with the width being almost same as the length. The goal for round shaped face should be to add some angularity to your face and try to make the round shape appear oval by wearing sunglasses that add length to the round face. Bright color sunglasses with sharp angular frames can help to compensate the excessive smoothness associated with round faces.

Diamond Face
Diamond faces are long faces with wider middle potion of face near cheek bones and narrower upper (near forehead) and lower (near chin) portions. This category of face is rare but if you happened to have diamond shaped face then your goal should be to select sunglasses that reverse your face features. Select sunglasses that make your forehead and chin looks wider and your middle face near cheekbones look narrower. Your goal should be to shorten your face length and hence try to choose frames which do not have rim or are semi rimless with heavy top lines. Oval shaped sunglasses and cat eye sunglasses looks good on diamond shaped faces.

Oblong Face
Oblong faces are similar to oval faces but are much longer and have parallel sides with same width across the forehead, cheekbones and jaw line. Oblong faced people have sharp chins and should choose sunglasses that make the face look shorter and broader and more oval like. Sunglasses with round or square frames look good on oblong faces. One of the most common feature of oblong face is long nose and if you have one then try to choose sunglasses that have frames with low bridge.

Triangular Face
Triangular faces are heart shape upside down. They have a narrow forehead and cheekbones with a very broad jaw line and chin. Triangle shaped faces should choose sunglasses with the objective to broaden the forehead and upper part of face while trying to narrow the chin and lower part of face. Choose sunglasses that have thin rim or rimless. Sunglasses that sit low and oversized sunglasses also look good on triangular faces. Aviators are a very popular style with triangle faces.
